The Qur’an has extensively been studied by Muslim scholars. This interest developed the sciences of the Qur’an into a discipline that comprehensively studies every aspect of the Book of Allah.
This work focuses on one of those sciences, the study of the names of the chapters (surahs) of the Qur’an. It explains the origins of these names and tries to identify the pattern of naming each surahs.
The surah names can be placed in one of seven categories. 1). Attributes of Allah 2) The Qur'an 3) The Heraftre 4) Creature types 5) Prophets 6) Life of the human being 7) Nature. What is the significance of these categories and what the names have to do with the period of revelation? This book explores these and other interesting questions.
