Introduction to Sunan Abi Dawud

This book is a translation of the introduction to Ad Durr al-Mandud ala Sunan Abi Dawud, Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Aqil's Urdu commentary of Sunan Abi Dawud, which is effectively a transcription of his lectures on the Sunan. It aims to give the student the necessary tools before their journey into studying the Sihah Sitta and other books of hadith. This book was prepared to ensure that the student is not overwhelmed by the sheer size of these voluminous books, unable to understand and derive any benefit from them, rather they are equipped with the necessary tools to maximise the benefit of studying these canonical books. 

Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Aqil is the Shaykhul Hadith at  Mazahir Ulum Saharanpur and has been a senior lecturer of Hadith for the past 53 Years. He studied hadith with Shaykh Zakariyya Kandhalwi,  Mawlana Manzur Ahmad Khan,  Mawlana As'adullah Rampuri, and Mawlana. Amir Ahmad Kandhalwi. He assisted Shaykh Zakariyya in compiling many of his work and also has many works in the field of Hadith himself,  including extensive footnotes on the hadith lectures of Mawlana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi.
